Wiesensteig - my German home!!

I went to visit my friends in Germany in March and stayed at their place for a week. It coincided with Easter holidays and I was absolutely relaxed - 100% out of touch with my coworkers. It was my first true vacation in 4-5 years and I realized I really needed it!! Really wanted to be surrounded by my favorite people who don't hesitate to show love and friendship, which is one of important things you just can hardly get in my country most of time. Such a precious time! Extremely comfortable to be there even if I don't speak German at all. All the people I met in Wiesensteig gave me so much energy for sure.

My friends Elizabeth and Ulf are really good at spoiling me and treated me just like their sister or daughter. Elizabeth kept telling me every day that she is happy to have me there as well as how happy she is living with her husband Ulf in that town. Elizabeth, I feel very happy about your wonderful life with Ulf. You guys are awesome!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

I got back in my office on March 31. I was still jet lagged but 100% refreshed so I could deal with it, even made a joke about it like, "Hey my body is in Tokyo but my biologic clock is still somewhere around Moscow." Eventually it came back to Tokyo but it took me about a week. As I prepared everything for my absence before my trip, I wasn't very busy for the first week. But the 2nd week of April, I had to deal with a serious problem between a player and a translator which came out of the blue. It was a clash of the translator's small ego and the player's misunderstanding that eventually turned out a big issue. I got a mission from my boss to enter it to end it. My very first Mission Impossible - I sure needed Tom Cruise or Matt Damon to play my role!! Really emotionally taxing to do because I ended up standing all alone right in front of the player's vent. And the translator didn't really realize what went wrong. Anyway, this matter finally came to an end at the beginning of the 3rd week of April. Lucky me! Helicobacter pylori were about to have a carnival in my stomach! (I don't know if I have pylori in my stomach though.)

Well, it was just a beginning... yes, this month so far, many people I met or worked with, even some of my friends' behavior, were unusual for some reason... I don't know if it is me seeing them unusual or it is who they really are. The first punch was intense. Maybe because of that, the rest were low-impact and less nerve-wrecking. I just wonder what was wrong with me. I was fully recharged 3 weeks ago - totally happy and smiling - but am almost running out of juice now. It only lasted 3 weeks!! Unbelievable!! We are going to have one of the longest holidays in Japan called Golden Week next week. I got to have some time totally off to forget all of my work and all the people that ask too much.

That said, what I did last Saturday at Apple Store Ginza was fun. It was a talk session of Carsten Nicolai and Ryuichi Samamoto for Apple Store Ginza and an interview of them both for a magazine. The MC of the session and the interviewer from the magazine Susumu Kunisaki, who I have known for years and is one of my coworkers, started talking in English during the interview. As Carsten and Mr. Sakamoto communicate in English and I understand it as well, it seems that he decided not to hesitate to join them in English. Good for him! I like it when interviewers try to communicate with interviewees in English because it certainly helps the conversation flow and it also makes my work easier when it comes to technical terms I have no idea of.

Oh, I got it! What happened to me in the last 3 weeks is for letting me learn more about communication! All the unusual people I stumbled across basically prone to shyness. Some seem to have lost their shyness and become touchy. I still have 9 more days to go this month. I wonder who will give me another chance to learn it before Golden Week.

By the way, this is what I'm into recently.

COOOOOL!!!

I dance to their debut album almost every day! I got a new iPod Classic a couple of weeks ago and downloaded their album to it but still hesitate to listen to it on the way to my office... because I would definitely dance on the train! Embarrassing, you know :-)
